La Chacra de Joel Hotel: (chacra means small farmhouse)

A new hotel, in a rustic colonial style, opened in Huehuetenango in May 2009. Surrounded by fields of native flora, tall trees and orange groves, it is an ideal place to spend a pleasant and peaceful break away from the bustle and pollution of the city. Enjoy the birdsong at dawn as well as spotting mockingbirds, woodpeckers and gulls among others species.

Children can enjoy the playground, and soon we will have a heated pool.

Take an unforgettable holiday at the foot of the Cuchumatán mountains, where you can visit local sites such as the ancient Mam ruins of Zaculeu, the Maya villages of the Cuchumatán mountains, the source of the river San Juan, the Rio Azul, Lake Magdalena, Lake Brava, and the impressive Cimarrón sinkhole.
